Our Story

The Beginning

Samuel & Kylee first met at the University of Missouri S & T in Rolla, Missouri during their Freshman year of college. At the time, Kylee was friends with several of the boys in Samuel's Fraternity, Kappa Sigma. Through mutual friends, they met and the rest was history. If the couple was asked, "who made the first move", the answer would definitely be Kylee. They began officially (because it took Sam so long to ask) dating on August 4th, 2019. Samuel asked Kylee to be his girlfriend when he took her to the airport to visit friends in Colorado. While on the phone with his boss, Sam said "I am taking my girlfriend to the airport". Such a simple phrase. Kylee in return asked "So am I your girlfriend now?" and he replied "Yes". Romantic in his own right, Samuel didn't even need to ask, he just knew.

The Proposal

Kylee planned a winery day to celebrate the joint events of Samuel's birthday and Father's Day. The day was set to be at Samuel's favorite winery, Blumenhof Winery, which is tucked between trees off the main road for the Augusta Wine Trail. She was unsuspecting when Samuel and Weston wanted to take a walk through the grape vines. After twenty minutes of exploring and letting Weston touch every tree and trip over every branch, Samuel grabbed Kylee's hands shaking. She had never seen him so scared and immediately knew. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Kylee fell to her knees and gave him the biggest hug. Weston seeing all of the commotions ran to them and wanted to join in on their celebration and gave them both kisses as if he could sense the happiness between them. They returned to the rest of their family and celebrated the rest of the day with wine.
